dog swim

We are pleased to announce that our canine friends will be getting another opportunity to have a splash in the Lido on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October. Please note, this is at the end of our season and following all human swimming sessions.

We are having to make some changes to our normal schedule schedule to make sure we apply with COVID guidelines on distancing and numbers on site. Each wave is 1-hour long and you will have 15 minutes after the end of the session to change etc. before being required to leave the site. Please note the showers and changing rooms will not be available. The site will then be closed for 30 minutes to allow us to clean and disinfect the poolside and toilets ready for the next group to come in. You will also be required to wear a face mask while onsite to help reduce the risks, this will not be required when in the swimming pool.

Some breeds of dog are naturals in the water and others sink like a brick - we are happy for you to enter the water with your dog if they need the help. If you’re at all unsure about your dog’s ability to swim in the water then please come ready and prepared to enter the water. You know your dog best. Please be aware that the water will be reduced to 20C for this event.

We insist on there being a minimum of one adult to one dog on entry to the site (adult aged 16+).

When you arrive at the Lido, we ask that you keep your dog on a lead whilst they are in the grounds and only let them off when they enter the water. Please be a considerate dog owner, cleaning up afterwards and also removing your dog away from any barking arguments.

There will be lifeguards on duty, but their responsibility is for the safety of you in the water - the dog’s welfare remains the responsibility of the owner. You will be expected to sign a disclaimer upon entry to the site. Face coverings must be worn and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.

N.B. This is the last use of the pool in our summer season and the pool will be highly dosed with chemical and cleaned before the next human use!
