Our Sustainability Commitment
We are committed to playing our part in the global priority of reducing emissions and waste and safeguarding water whilst maintaining everything we love about our Lido – its historic nature, its character and the enjoyment and wellbeing it brings to its users.
Our strategy is therefore to prioritise and pursue energy efficiency and sustainability measures that make economic sense and ensure a long and sustainable future for Sandford Parks Lido and its community.
We have exciting plans but we will continue to listen, to learn and to welcome challenges from our stakeholders so that we develop in the best way possible but all the time reducing our environmental impact.

Reduce Waste:
- Zero to Landfill
- We don’t print tickets, everything is held via our online booking system.
- We sell reusable drink bottles and mugs
Reduce energy consumption:
- Energy saving lighting in the changing rooms and toilets
- Optimised the running of all the pool plant equipment
- Buy local and use local business as much as possible
Reduce carbon emissions:
- Cycle Racks with CCTV coverage
- Pool Covers
- Limit Cash onsite to reduce vehicle journeys to the bank
Reduce water consumption:
- Reduce the frequency of backwashing the pool filters
- Installation of an air scourer to reduce water required during each backwash
