The pool is surrounded by beautifully kept lawns and flower beds, making the lido the perfect place to sunbathe or enjoy a picnic alongside the use of our pool. The renowned fountain and historical features also contribute to the beauty of our pool.
A Lido for everyone
Sandford Parks Lido in Cheltenham is committed to making the facilities accessible to all visitors, regardless of their additional access needs. Much of the facilities were built in the 1930s, but they have since been adapted to improve accessibility and ensure that everyone can enjoy the lido.
For visitors who use wheelchairs, scooters, prams, and buggies, there is ramped access to the toilets and changing rooms, making it easier to access these facilities. The main pool also has a hoist available on either side of the pool to assist those with mobility issues in and out of the water.
If you require the use of the hoist or any other accessibility features, please do not hesitate to ask one of the staff members. They will be happy to assist you and ensure that your visit is comfortable and enjoyable.
At Sandford Parks Lido in Cheltenham, we are dedicated to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all visitors, and we continuously strive to improve our facilities to better serve those with additional access needs.

The grounds include our 50M outdoor pool & kids pool, we also have a very popular cafe on site, a kids play park, sun lounging, a sauna, changing facilities & our reception building where we are happy to help you!

Our 1-1 swimming lessons are now LIVE on our website and available to book ๐ฒ
Dates are available until the end of September.
These sessions are just ยฃ25 per 30-minute lesson, with one of our skilled swim instructors ๐โโ๏ธ

Today, weโre celebrating our commitment to sustainability at Sandford Parks Lido.
We are continuing to strive towards reducing emissions, cutting waste, and safeguarding water, whilst also preserving the historic charm and cherished experiences of our beloved Lido.
This winter we have repaired a leak in our childrenโs pool, installed inverters on our heritage pumps and installed pipe work so we can divert water away from the fountain at night and go directly to the pool, thus reducing heat loss.
And thanks to the Sports England Swimming Pool Support Fund and support from CBCโs Cheltenham Zero Community Grant, weโre set to achieve the third stage of our decarbonisation plan at Sandford Parks Lido.
With this funding, weโll be purchasing a new pool cover for the childrenโs pool and installing solar PV panels in the Lido car park.
But thatโs not allโฆ
Weโre also committed to enhancing energy efficiency with EV charging points and improvements for pedestrian and cyclist safety and accessibility.
