Trustees

Passionate and committed individuals who volunteer their time and expertise

Chair

Richard Jones

I feel very lucky to be a Trustee at the Lido. Every time I visit I’m struck by the wonderful atmosphere, it always feels like a sanctuary to me to be protected for the future. I hope my wide range of financial and practical skills help that to happen.

Vice Chair

Jerry Angrave

Having lived in Cheltenham pretty much all my life, I’ve been going to the Lido as far back as I can remember. As a competitive swimmer in my teens and then as a long-distance open water swimmer later in life, the Lido has always been both a warm, welcoming space and community. The Lido is something very special with so many positive physical and wellbeing aspects. To be a Trustee and play a small role in its future is a huge privilege.

Trustee

Duncan Rolley

As a former international swimmer who used the Lido in my formative club swimmer days at Gloucester City SC it has a VERY special place in my heart. Its vital contribution to the health and wellbeing of the residents of Cheltenham, the surrounding areas and further afield should never be underestimated. I now work in elite sport with a focus on facility provision and partnerships so the opportunity to work alongside like minded passionate trustees was something I relished and hopefully my experiences and passion add something to the Trustee group.

Trustee

Tim Coolican

Trustee

Liz Chadwick

I am a local resident and season ticket holder who is passionate about the continued success of the lido and I want to work with the other Trustees and amazing lido team to help achieve that.

Trustee

Andy Holding

I have enjoyed being a lido season ticket holder for many years and also a user of several other indoor and outdoor swimming venues in and around Cheltenham.

I became a trustee several years ago and joined the team to help with the Lido’s continued development. One of my main motivators as a trustee is to explore various ways of sustainably extending the lido’s availability, usage and enjoyment within and also beyond the traditional core summer season.

Trustee

Carole Billington-Wood

I am passionate about the Lido and maintaining our facility now and for future generations. My main role on the Board focuses on safeguarding the wellbeing of our visitors, staff and volunteers. I bring experience from my professional background as an NSPCC Senior Consultant in the Child Protection and Safeguarding in Sport Unit. Prior to this my role for 10 years was Director of Development at British Triathlon during a time of massive growth in participation. I was part of a team which successfully lobbied for inclusion of Triathlon in the Olympics. Competing as an Elite Triathlete at World and European Championships prior to working in Triathlon combined my background of youth swimming and cross country running. I LOVE swimming at the Lido, and enjoy applying my skills and knowledge to this privileged role.

Trustee

Chris James

I’m an Engineer who mainly supports the Team responsible for the Lido’s Assets. I’m involved in projects to help ensure the facility remains viable by adopting more sustainable energy supplies, and using energy more efficiently. I’m also a keen swimmer

Trustee

Lindsey Ingle

I feel privileged to be a Lido Finance Trustee, including supporting its long-term sustainability. I work locally as the Finance Director at the University of Gloucestershire and live in Cheltenham with my young family. We have been Lido season ticket holders for the last few years (although I’ve not attempted the cold water swimming yet!).

Trustee

Natasha Stonebridge

The Lido plays an enormous role in maintaining my own health and wellbeing, I wanted the opportunity to use my skills as a communicator and psychological sciences researcher to give back and help grow the Lido and make it even more accessible and enjoyed by the community it serves.

Trustee

Cllr Paul Baker

Paul is Cheltenham Borough Council’s representative on the Board of Trustees joining in 2022. He is the local Borough and County Councillor so knows the Lido and the surrounding area well. Recently retired, Paul was previously Chairman of Cheltenham Town Football Club for 21 years. He is a passionate Cheltonian being educated at Dunalley Street Primary School and Cheltenham Grammar. Paul admits to being a non-swimmer but recognises the importance of the Lido to our town from both a sporting and heritage perspective.
