Drowning Prevention Week
We teamed up with volunteers from the RNLI to take part in the Drowning Prevention Week Campaign (14th-24th June). The campaign, created by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) aims to reduce the number of drowning and non-fatal drowning incidences that occur in the UK every year, by raising awareness of the dangers of water and promoting water safety education through events, lessons, games and activities.
We held a number of educational water safety talks for local schools, as well as showing a water-themed puppet show, 'Beach Buddies'. We got a great response from everyone who attended and would like to thank everybody for their support. We hope that together we can raise awareness for water safety! The RLSS' campaign encourages schools, clubs, leisure centres and communities, to promote water safety education through events, lessons, games and activities, in a bid to make people more aware of the dangers of water.
